Mission

All-City Children’s Chorus aspires to enrich, inspire, and transform the lives of children by providing superior caliber choral music education and achieving performances of high artistic quality.

History

For over four decades, the All-City Children’s Chorus has provided an unforgettable, quality artistic experience for young singers. This Cheyenne-based group of children in grades four through eight has performed in venues throughout Wyoming and all across the United States and in Canada, appearing at major national choral conventions, conferences and festivals and earning scores of awards in the process. Not surprisingly, the ACCC has become recognized as one of the finest children’s choruses in the United States.

All-City Children’s Chorus was founded in 1976 by visionary Laramie County School District #1 music educators led by Mary Jo Morandin. ACCC is currently under the direction of the artistic director Janet Weisbrook and executive director Mary Ann Fritz, assisted by a dedicated staff and group of parent volunteers. Previous directors of ACCC include Marcia Patton, Judy Harmon, Rebecca (Dykeman) Tish, Kathy Borgaard, Diane Hultgren, Marilyn Collins, Vincent Mingils. ACCC has had many successes including featured choir performances at NW American Choral Directors Association Convention, Carnegie Hall, and the American Orff Schulwerk Conference in Las Vegas, NV. ACCC has also received top honors at a variety of choral festivals and competitions, collaborated with the Cheyenne Little Theatre Players in two productions of “Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat”, in 2004 ACCC was honored as a recipient of the Governor’s Arts Awards (Wyoming) and in 2010 represented the state of Wyoming at the US Capitol Tree Lighting Ceremony in Washington, DC. ACCC has sung at both of Gov. Mead’s and Gov. Geringer’s inauguration ceremonies and at the grand re-opening of the Wyoming State Capitol.

On Sept. 11, 2021, ACCC participated in the 20th anniversary memorial ceremony of 9/11 at the Wyoming State Capitol.

In June 2023 ACCC sang as part of the dedication ceremony for the “Little House” at Curt Gowdy State Park.
